Research Interests: Complex abiotic stresses pose challenges to plant growth and development. Systems biology and systems genetics are two approaches useful in identifying regulatory factors that influence how plants partition cellular resources between primary and secondary metabolic pathways in response to environmental signals. Predictive network modeling directs our metabolic engineering efforts to identify the most effective strategies to improve crop productivity in response to environmental challenges imposed by global climate change.
