Binod Basyal (Walker Lab)
Date & Location: April 13, 2021, at 12p; Virtual talk
Subject: Role of mycorrhizal fungi in plant's drought resilience
Bio: Dr. Baysal got his B.Sc. Agriculture from Tribhuvan University, Nepal and completed a Ph.D. in biology from the University of Louisville with concentration in ecology and evolution. His Ph.D. research focused on understanding arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF)-switchgrass relationship under plant-parasitic nematode and drought stresses with implications for the plant’s cell wall chemistry. With the current position in the Walker lab, Dr. Baysal aims to further explore the effects of the AMF-drought interactions with consequences for aboveground processes such as photosynthesis.
